Isaiah Chapter 40: Verses 28 - 31
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Today, I turned one year old. I want to say a BIG "Thank You" to Mummy who has been taking care of me for the past 12 months.

All the laughter and anger that she had experienced for the past few months was all worth it.... ....... At least I think it was worth it. :)

Mummy and Daddy vividly recalled the 1st night that they brought me home from Mount Alvernia Hospital - as both of them had been kept busy for the whole day. They assumed that I should sleep quitely after my feed and had me tucked in bed. Guess what... They were so wrong. Totally wrong. Nope, I was not satisfied still... In fact, I was wailing so loudly from 2am that they had to pacify me by sleeping together with me in the living room till 4am. Interesting, right?
When I was about 2 months, I had a high fever. This was right after the compulsory vaccination which I had 2 days earlier. Mummy had to shower me with warm water continuously in order keep my temperature down. Luckily, the fever did subside after much prayer coupled with medication and Mummy's round-the-clock care.

Very soon, 3 months has passed. Mummy reluctantly had to report back to work after her maternity leave. On the 1st day, it was fine. On Day 2, I immediately fell sick on the morning she left for work. Luckily, my grandparents quickly rush me to Doctor R's clinic where I was given a jab before heading down to Mount Alvernia Hospital. When we reached the hospital, the thermometer reading was 39.1 Celsius. As an added measure, my blood sample was taken for further investigation on the fever, as at that time, the doctor suspected that I was having Urinary Infection/Liver infection/Dengue Fever.
Mummy told me that I was wailing so loudly that the whole of Mount Alvernia would tumble to the ground - like how Jericho tumbled to the ground!!! Oh yeah. Strong lungs!

After much discussion, Mummy and Daddy came to a major conclusion for Mummy to stop working and be a SAHM (thats Stay At Home Mum for the uninitated). It was really a very big sacrifice for Mummy to give up her job after working for so many years. For me, it's definitely wonderful news as I will be fully cared for and love by Mummy.
6 months - another milestone! Semi Solids! Yes, I started taking semi-solid food. Now my menu included the following at different times of the day
1) Baby cereal
2) Porridge
3) Mummy's milk
This was a major change to the normal schedule that we use to have. From that time on, sometime in September, Mummy learned to cook different types of porridge to suit my taste buds.

To date, my favourite combinations are still the following

1."Japanese Pumpkin" with mince meat and sometimes with "Japanese Dried Sardines".

2. Minced pork with fresh scallops with blanched broccolli.

3. Chopped carrots fried with garlic and minced pork.

4. "Japanese Sweet Potato" porridge.

5. Fish with mince pork - usually Cod or Threadfin... the Cod has a high Omega 3 content but has a fishy smell... Threadfin is less fishy... Cod can only be found at Cold Storage whilst Threadfin can only be found at NTUC Fairprice
See? I know my fish!

Though mummy has always emphasized healthy eating for me i.e. not too much oil (and always olive oil because it doesn't stay in the human body after consumption), no salt, no sugar, no nuts (to prevent ecezma), no citrus fruits, no honey, no eggs etc.
My list is rather long at the moment, but Mummy says it should shorten as I grow older!
Recently, in March - I had another high fever where my temperature went up to 38.9 degrees celsius. Of course, the logical solution is to take a cold (or cool) shower to bring down their temperature quickly. This, coupled with Mummy and Daddy's round-the-clock care - helped to bring down my fever.
Daddy says that I am his Mr Sticky every morning when he leaves for work.... and in the evenings, I'm Mummy's Mr Sticky.... every day when Daddy comes home, I will rush to the gate when he opens the door - and I will be there to receive him. Yeah! Daddy likes this I think - he smiles whenever I do that!
Must be a good thing, right?
